2 pound cod fillets, cut into serving sized pieces
3/4 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon vinegar
3/4 cup water
Salt
Vegetable Oil
French Fried Potatoes
Prepare French Fried Potatoes to serve 5. Keep warm.
Heat 2 to 3 inches vegetable oil in heavy skillet to 375° F. Rinse fish fillets, dry thoroughly. In a medium bowl, mix flour, dill weed and the 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix baking soda and 1 tablespoon vinegar; stir into flour mixture. Stir in water; beat until smooth.
Dip fish into batter, allowing excess batter to drip into bowl. Fry, turning once, until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Sprinkle fish and potatoes with vinegar and salt.
