101 Fly Fishing Tips I read this book from cover to cover as soon as I got it. When I finished reading, I ran to the basement and got my hip boots and waders away from the furnace (tip #15). I figured that this one tip alone was worth the price of the book to me. (It also helped me understand why I'm always patching and replacing rubber hip boots.)

In what other Florida fishing book does the author bother to provide an entertaining background on the geological history that produced the Florida coastal flats? There is a light dusting of cornball humor, but it only makes a very informative book a bit more fun to read. Highly recommended.

Hooked on Ice Fishing II This book saved me from making over $300 in unecessary equipment purchaes. I was thinking about buying a Flasher sonar unit for the trip, but descriptions accompanied by pictures of LCR units in this volume made me realize that one of my current units will work just fine on ice, and now I know how to accurately interpret the signals when the unit is stationary as opposed to moving in a boat.
