If you come in from the river it is free by boat. Otherwise bank fishing is by fee. Kind of neat place to fish around. Neat areas on banks where they filmed The Big Fish. Note: IF YOU COME IN FROM THE RIVER BE SURE THE WATER IS HIGH ENOUGH.

Watch out for stumps and shallow water. There are stumps everywhere and the water can be extremely shallow out in the widest are where you wouldn't think it's shallow. You can go from 20 feet of water to 2 feet very quickly.

Jackson Lake is private property on the Alabama river. It is right off a main highway but feels very secluded. There is an old boat ramp but no pier. There aren't any bathrooms or other facilities. There is a fee of 3 dollars per person. There are plenty of crappie and brim that you can catch from the bank.I like the privacy and quiet. There are very few people that know about it.

This a very beautiful and scenic area. The movie " Big Fish " was partially filmed here and the old movie set is still here. There is plenty of shade, parking, and open grassy areas. They don't allow camping or anyone before daylight or after dark.

I received my membership form from an old woman that lives in the small brown home on the right. There seems to be very few members because I rarely see more than one or two other people there. It is an incredible place to take children fishing for easy to catch brim and crappie. My son is three and he loves going there.Crickets seem to be better than worms.Someone should have a childrens charity type of tournament on the banks there.

This is a wonderful place to take children to catch bream or crappie.Take plenty of crickets.I received my membership form from a nice old lady that lives in the smaller brown home on the right. She gave me the entry code and told me to drop my form in the same box as my entry fee the next time I came.

I have fished here many times. It has large bass and just about any fish you might find in the AL River since it opens into the river. It is privately owned but open to the public as long as you register (free membership) They use the membership forms for safety reasons. You fill out a form one time and they will give you the gate code. You get a form from either of the houses on your right as you enter the property. You pay $3.00 per person each visit in envelopes that are provided at the gate. You drop your money envelope in a box by the gate and put in the code to open the gate. The road takes you over to a large island where there are picnic tables and restrooms (restrooms may be closed during winter months) They allow camping but I do not think there are hook-ups. I believe it is about $5.00 per person and $5.00 for the camping spot. There is a boat ramp. This really is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon and we usually bring home a good catch.
