I purchased a family membership for three consecutave years at $60 per year which is not a bad deal. Yhe kake is beautiful peaceful and quiet, it has several great picnic areas, the only downside is that in three years my entire family has only caught four small fish! That is combined fishing from the banks and fishing from our boat. We did not renew our membership this year due to results

I recently joined the conservation lake club. The dues are 60 dollars a year with a 5 dollar gues fee and 12 dollar boat rentals. The lake is beautiful, clear, and clean but fishing is hard to say the least.

In the old days (early 80's) this lake was exceptional. For whatever reason, the fishing there has become below average at best. The lake has always been very clear and clean but my last years of membership were less than desirable mainly because of the costs vs. catch ratio. My first permit purchase was back in the early 80's and I enjoyed fishing there as fishing was pretty good and membership rates were reasonable. In the 80's the permit for one full year (from date of purchase) was $20 and boat rental was around $10 per day. My last permit purchase was in 1999 when it cost $60 to join. I'm not sure about the boat rentals. I chose to fish from the bank. I like the lake and always found it to be a pleasant place to fish but the fishing trips back in the 80's were much more enjoyable. This is not an issue of permit cost. I would gladly pay the $60 for a permit but the fishing (catching) there has gotten to be horrible. Its been several year since I've fished the lake and perhaps things have changed. I am considering a new membership but I will have to take a look around the lake before I decide. I do have to say it is a beautiful lake but snakes are numerous!!!
