Just a general comment about the history of Moon Lake. My great-uncle, Charles Gardley Moon, was part of a geological survey team from the University of Texas during WWII that went up to Alaska to survey for oil and other minerals. The professor that headed up the team noted the crescent shape of an unnamed lake and named it after my great-uncle: Moon Lake.
