Lake trout are on the small side (18-20'').Try trolling a white plug at dusk.The grayling are hard to catch on a fly though.Small spinners work good.

Although it has been a couple of years, this is a nice out of the way place we used to go every year around Labor Day. Tangle Lakes is in a beautiful location surrounded by a mostly tundra environment. There are a couple of lodges with restaurants within five minute drive from the campgrounds. There are basically two main campgrounds within walking distance of each other. The north campground overlooks one of the lakes and is a good place for RVs and trailers. There are few trees. The southern campground has a few spaces along the stream that are better for tents although they will also accommodate RVs. Fishing around the end of August (when we have gone there) is usually good and we have been able to have good fish dinners plus the fun of catching some in the morning for breakfast. We have caught some trout in the lakes but there are mostly grayling in the stream between the lakes. You can use little spinners and the fly fishing is excellent in the right place.
