Very muddy water at all times, but offers decent fishing for bass if you are persistent and fish tight to cover with highly-visible, slow-moving lures.

Trees need to be planted around shore to replace those that have gone. Bank erosion needs to be addressed. A porta potty would be nice for the kids. also a night time fishing permit one could purchase, proceeds going towards purchase of said trees and potty rentals. Signs warning of venomous snakes. Picture and info signs around lake showing fish species inhabiting lake and a history of the lake, catches,records etc. Possibly a small man made floating island anchored out in the lake away from lines and lures so the ducks and geese will not be harmed by those who would make game of it. These comments could then be used at other waters if lake bentonville would be a prototype. Get the community in on it, after all it is us who use it.

In the middle of the day, you quite frankly won't catch anything, and it took me a long time to figure out what they want. There are very good fish in the water but they're difficult to catch. I went very early, before sunrise and caught a very large bass with a plastic worm. There's good fishing here, but you just need to be very patient and persistent. Also, there are lots of geese and a playground for kids, so it's not bad for a family fishing trip.
