This lake is called "The Berrin Sea" around here. There have been big fish caught here, but for the most part this lake is EXTREMELY hard to find fish. The cover that was left when the area was flooded has long gone. This lake is the hardest lake I have ever fished and I have fished a lot all around the county. This is NOT a typical southern manmade lake, ask anyone who has fished it and they will all tell you the same thing. Save yourself the trouble and go to Lake Conway just 40 min from there if you want true southern type of bass, redear, catfish, and crappie fishing. No I am not a disgruntled tourist, I live here in Greers Ferry and have always appreciated someone being honest about a lake, and with gas prices it is even more important now. Good luck and great fishing.

This is an old comment I accidently found. Regarding the comment by"LoveToFish" that Greers Ferry is a"Barrin Sea". This person must not fish very often otherwise they would know that Greers Ferry Lake has some of the best Hybris and white fishing around. Spring time Crappie fishing is off the charts and catches of nice catfish are common all over the lake. My frezzer stays stocked with fish from this lake. Maybe it's good that people that live here spread this type of information, Keeps the tourists out of the lake and gives me more room to fish. I live here and love this clean clear water lake. Only recently did was raw sewage dumping stop at lake Conway. We call the Terd Fish Hole.
