I fish for trout here often and anywhere around the boat launch is pretty good using powerbait or worms, when they are biting.

James and Luis, Your fish may be a Sacramento pike-perch (squaw fish) that is native to the Alameda Creek and other western watersheds. I have caught these in this lake and other areas of the watershed.

This is a good place for family recreation. As far as the fishing goes, sometimes its on, others its dead. I don't venture there much anymore, because every single fishing spot is always takes by a Mexican... or 7. Well I'd consider this a lace that you gotta try out for yourself to know if it's good or not.

Fishing can be hot on some days and cold as ICE water temps change from day to day, wind! Lots of fish to catch, big and average planters with some stand outs. Strippers, trout, black bass. Pick your passion. Gets crowded on the weakends. Watch out for the novice boaters some times they get to close, Speak up and tell them how it is. Good luck.
