How in the world have only a few people commented on this wonderful, trophy fishery?! And didn't even leave positive remarks? I fish almost exclusively for largemouth bass, but know the rainbows are absolutely enormous in here! There are thoughts that the next world record bass is swimming in here. The primary food source for the fat bass are those same rainbows, and you can kill 'em if you know how to use a swimbait correctly. After all, the lake record is well over 18lbs! I've found that the pre-spawn is the most rewarding time (with all the rain we've seen this spring, many are still holding tight), but there isn't a bad time of year to fish here. There are boat rentals for a reasonable price, no 2-stroke engines are allowed. If you are a fairly skilled angler, and stay patient, this place will reward you. As a local with several years experience fishing these and other Bay Area lakes this is, in my opinion, the best trout and bass water in the Bay. Lastly, please consider practicing catch & release (ATLEAST the small ones) so that good fishing populations will be there for our children and, damn it, PLEASE clean up after yourselves!!
