Beautiful lake to fish. Bring a fly rod in late July with mosquito flies. We only caught golden trout which is usually a rare find in the June Lake Loop. The hike to the lake is about 20 plus miles (from Silver Lake) so pack for at least two nights. My group were the only people on the lake when we went, and the three of us caught about 50 goldies in one day (all released. Their sizes ranged from 4" to the largest being about 18."
