I fished this lake for years when we had lake rights with our Vail Lake membership. Over time this dousch bag took the lake rights from us with a battle in court. I fished this lake from 95' on and the bass fishing was amazing I dont know what it is now but I sure want to go. Good luck.

Something not sated on this web site is that Vail Lake is a private owned Lake and can only be fished by members. So dont head there thinking your going for a fun day at Vail or you will by very disapointed when they tell you to get lost.

You can fish from shore if you are camping there, but you can not put a boat in the water unless you are a member of the lake.

My family and friends used to fish here in the late 1960's and early 1970's. We would always catch crappie, bluegill, a few bass, and even trout. Many of the crappie and bluegill looked strange, with long fins and dark colors. When I visited the lake in the early 1980's they had signs posted, warning people "not to eat the fish". I figured the lake had become polluted with farm chemicals from rain run-off. The lake was deserted. No one was fishing and the whole place was like a ghost town. It was sad to see, especially after having caught hundreds of fish there and having so much fun in years passed.
