This lake is not planted by the Department of Fish and Game, and there are no fish in the lake. There is speculation that this lake freezes solid in the winter because it is a shallow lake. If any fish were to be platned they would not survive the winter. DFG can not plant this by air because it is in a wilderness area. Aircraft can only get within 500 ft unless is a life or death emergency regarding a human. The only way this could be planted for anglers to enjoy is by horse back every year. I am working on this right now!..We'll see how far I get.

I tried my best to get this lake planted, however the fisheries division of DFG has this area marked as potential habitat of the mountain yellow legged frog. To my understanding this species of frog is threatened by planted trout, so this lake will probably never be planted again. It's nice to hear stories from the old timers about fishing this lake in the summers. One old timer told me he helped plant this lake many years ago by horse back.
