Okay on my last blog I caught one bass on a weedless finese worm. TodayI caught my first bass early and at the same exact spot. I was feeling like a pro! Dressed in green army camo. Then i started making rookie mistakes. I switched colors on my worms (plastic) I started speending too much time on the banks and not enough time fishing. You cant catch fish if your bait is notin the water. My brother had numerous strikes but didnt land any! His skills are erouding. You really have to double set the hooks on these boys they do not want to be caught without a fight. Well iwould love to fish tomorrow but it's not likely. Today's bass was caught on a all black berkley power worm no weight. Other bass were caught on spinners when the sun got bright.

No crappies are being caught as yet but i did see a few people still fishing for catfish. In my oppion they were fishing all wrong for sweetwater cats. these cats love huge baits that call them in. Chicken livers or ocean mackeral dipped in some hog wild stink bait. Make sure your line and knots are up too par. I'm ready to start crank baiting next week. I'll take one along just in case they're aggressive. The male bass are inching closer to the choreline showing pre spawn behavior. I saw many bass shalow but could not intice the bite! I have to get better and more patient working the plasic worm. The worm is king!

the fishing is slow but I did land a nice bass on a unweighted berkley worm. When I cleaned the bass it had a weedless worm and hook in it's belly.I may have missed many other bass by having it texas rigged. this weekend should be explosive with the warm weather.
