Been fishing here 2-4 times a week. out of the SYV area. small mouth bass are hitting off the E point on the lft side facing the lake. not quality but quantity! 4 inch black, motor oil have been working. slow now but early morning bites and hookups. trout are hitting off the Harveys cove dock. like night crawlers, 14 -20 inch beautiful fish. good luck out there

Top Water works early in the morning for large mouth bass when its still over cast and the fog is still hanging around. had most luck with a floating light green frog and a silver poper. work both of them slow but be agressvive with the poper.

Good bites early morning before sunrise. Had good luck on small mouth using swimbait around El Dorado Vista area. Work the bait very slow.

I fish Cachuma about once a week for Rainbow trout, but it has been slow going for quite sometime now. Some say it is due to runoff after fires in the area. Best results lately have been with salmon egg flavored powerbait. The ones I have caught have been 16-18 inches. I usually fish from Mohawk pier. The water has not been clear for a long time now. More rain is good for filling the lake, but stirs the water and brings in food competition. any hints from fellow fishermen in the area are requested.

Love this lake, not only to fish but also to camp. Three summers ago some friends and I were there for a church retreat. We hammered the trout drifting across the lake from the dam. Fish were suspended at 30-40 feet, using night crawlers. Between 6 people, we ended up with more than enough fish that we shared with other fellow campers.
