I fished here quite a bit when I was a kid in the around 1970. There was a fair amount of bluegill and crappie, and the occasional catfish, but now it is a stagnant murky swamp. It pretty much dried up during the late 70's drought, and I remember it got to a point where it was just kind of a mud pit littered with dead fish. I don't think there are fish there anymore, and I certainly would not eat anything from there. You can not see more than an inch or two into the water. I don't know if fishing is "allowed" but I doubt it would be anything worthwile.
