Greatest lake Ive been on, the largemouth there are incredibly smart and touchy to pressure. I wouldnt recommend any type of bait except soft plastics, purple worms with bright tails or trailers.

lake needs to be stocked to regain it's former health the ruling by state is wrong it is not a natural lake so stocking it with trout is not going to change it's own nature. no fish will change it a great deal - the wildlife will leave the area (great blue herons, egrets, and dozens of varieties of birds, bullfrogs, crawdads, not counting the land animals that depend on fish to eat. these will all disappear with out fish in the lake. what fish are left will be cought by various fishing people.

It is pretty up there but forget catching aything. It appears to have not been stocked sufficiently. You never even see anything but some tiny minnows. It's like a dead lake, you won't even get a bite. Occassionally there are "stories" that one or two tiny thin stocked trout were caught. Usually "in the past". I've gone there for several years, caught my limit of trout and other things elsewhere, not even a single bite in 4 years at Loch Lomond. You've got a better chance catching a fish in the Safeway parking lot than here. Again nice staff pretty lake, good to paddle around in but finding a fish in this lake is less likely than catching the Loch Ness Monster...

this lake used to be a good fishing spot but since the dfg decided to not stock it the fishing has been iffy at best. it will be years before this lake recovers to what it was. what a shame
