This lake can provide excellent bass fishing from late April through early June, as well as during the summer months but late summer becomes harder to target good numbers of big fish. The spotted bass are what most anglers catch with the occasional largemouth or smallmouth. Very popular techniques for catching them are throwing plastic worms rigged with darter head weights, tube baits, senkos, spinnerbaits, and of course the crankbait. I've had much success with plastics on this lake, and when the bite gets tough a shad-rap rarely fails. During the early spring when the water is starting to warm, going deep with plastic worms and jig type baits can produce decent numbers of fish. The fish may hold up between 30 to 15 feet of water during the pre-spawn but will start moving into shallower water, especially off of main lake points. A great way to target them in the shallows are fishing senkos weightless, wacky rigged or darter head. If the fish are hanging deep though, try drop shotting and you'll do very well if the fish aren't biting jigs. This lake has been known to produce 50 fish days so it's definitely a great fishery. Excellent trout fishing is available as well with several guide services on the lake.

Try fishing for spotted bass during april and into May. Use swim baits and rip baits for the occasional larger bass and plastics for lots of fish smaller though
