It's a short 3 mile hike if you are coming in from Salmon Lake, but you can drive to the top and drop down which I think is much quicker and easier I backpacked it. Fishing is excellent. We caught 15 in a few days there and that was fishing part time. Caught a nice 18 inch rainbow on a kastmaster. If you are a baiter, powerbait orange and chartrouse worked well with my kids. Rooster Tails have worked int he past. I believe all lake fish are native and are mostly rainbow and some brookies. I caught a golden a few years back and heard there are german brown in there too but have never seen one. Feel free to contact me with any questions
