i'm 47 years old. i have been very lucky to be exposed to the most fantastic trout fishing here every year sence my first trip in 1970. my father showed me the secrets of where, when and how that my grandfather figured out when he was a logger and used the lake as a deer hunting base camp in the area in the late 1930's. the trout move every year depending on water level however chesthigh wadders have always produced big fish and lots of them. again this year 5 of us went leaving with limits in only 2 days, including my son who i passed on to him what i know about this magic place. our trips have always been from the middle of sept thru end of oct with an occasional mid nov. trip depending on snowfall which can trap the unprepared in the lakes basin. i have seen 4 feet of snow fall in late 1986 within a 24 hour period. plan a trip here and you will never be disppointed. we are planning another trip oct 23 thru oct 28 email me and we can talk more... afiretruckfabricator at yahoo.com

Ever got tired of catching fish?medicine lake is a trout haven! a good angler can go at the right time of the year, and stick a limit ten times over. The lake is full of brook,rainbow and brown trout. It is also acessible fishing from shore,but a boat would be worth taking. defintitely a fun family camp trip especially for the fisherman.

I have fished there every year from 95-2007. Stocked with Brook Trout and there are some nice Rainbows as well.

The lake is planted several time over the summer. Fishing is great in June and declines through August as the presence of fishermen increases. Many locals fish for their limit daily and clean out the lake by July. The week before freezeover... anytime in late September, is when the big, deep dwelling fish come up for a last big feed. The fishing then can be rewarding as there are few if any others on the lake.
