When I called the Summit Ranger station , they said the valve in the lake is broken and they dont plan on fixing it. No fishing stocking for that area either....

We love Herring Creek. We camp there 4 to 5 times during the open season. We hiked out to the lake like usual last week.....but all the water is GONE! the lake is completely empty. And the worst part is when we called the rangers to find out why, they weren't aware of the dry up. I don't know when that will change but as for now August 2009....the lake is empty and the fish are dead on the shore.
