Love fishing Nichols though fish are not big, we usually catch. Hike out, especially by short trail, is steep and difficult.

Average fishing for trout with occasional nicer fish. A nice 1 miles hike down from Rampart Range Reservoir, but very steep on the way back up.

Half of the hike is easy, Half the hike is hard. The fishing was good but the majority of the fish were smaller than what I'm willing to keep. The park closes at 7:00pm don't be late geting out of there or they will put your plate on a list (twice and you car will be baned form the park) that was the warning I was given. They sound an alarm at 6:00pm to let you know to start packing up and heading out. Next time I'll leave on time.

small trout, but lots of em! on any given day you should be able to hammer in between 5 and 10 rainbows, powerbait works the best, but i have also caught many fish on small kastmasters, vibrexes, and roostertails
