This small body of water holds a surprising number of quality fish. Being a clear lake with an over-growth of submerged grasses, it does present somewhat of a challenge. Tossing lipless crankbaits and jerkbaits from shore usually results in a fouled lure, and little else. Successful fishing is best achieved with weedless soft-plastics. I've found that the ten inch Orginal Culprit worm in moccasin or junebug color works well in this area. I use a one eight oz. bullet weight and a three ought wide gap worm hook on 17 lb line. If you fish braided line or hi viz line, I advise the use of a short fluorocarbon leader. Cast your rigged worm passed the grass beds and slowly twitch and bump it along the bottom. It is very important to fish your worm sloooooowly. Strikes occur most often three to four feet from the grass, so long casts aren't neccesary. Don't hesitate to run your lure right through small patches of weeds adjacent to the main grass beds. Senkos are very productive during the daytime fished from a boat along the perimeter of the lake. Use dark colors to contrast with the light sandy bottom. Always fish a Senko weightless or you will ruin it's action. Peak hours for bass seem to occur at 9 to 11am, 6 to 9 pm, and midnight to 3am. If jet ski and boat traffic is heavy, come back at a later time. Please remember to pick up any trash or discarded line before you depart for the day. Always lean a fishing spot cleaner than you found it. - Tight lines
