I have bank fished this lake at least 2 dozen times in the past 3 months. It is heavily fished and the Largemouth population is very depleted. My recommendation is that you park where the dirt road ends at a port a john. Most people do not venture past this point. This is where the woodline starts and there is a navigable path along the bank through the trees. All of the fish that I have caught in this lake have been along this 200 yard long stretch of bank. I have thrown everything in my arsenal. Spinnerbaits, shallow diving cranks, spoons, jigs and various topwater lures. The only thing that I have had success with is plastic, particuliarly a key lime gree trick worm texas rigged with a small bullet weight.Out of 48 hours fishing this lake I have caught 15 Bass with the largest being around 3 lbs. Again, heavily overfished. Most people are fishing for catfish and even they rarely catch anything.

Unfortunately, the best fishing is on the private(and bigger) side. A friend of mine who has access via a property owner has taken me out a few times this spring and I have caught a couple of nice Bass. One 7 lber and a 5 lber in about 6 total hours of water time. Strangely, not many of the residents who own property are ever seen fishing when I have been or when I drive by daily. My friend says that he has caught a couple of double digit Bass on that side of the road in years past. The public side is hard fishing. There are Bass in the lake but you really need a Jon boat to get back to the weedy areas that hold the most fish.
