I fished here as a kid in the late 80's as I remember catching huge fish (keep in mind I was a kid and everything gets built up in your mind over the years) I went back in 1996 and the lake looked barren I’m not sure what happened, and it was kind of a disappointment. It is a sweet hiking area though and several routs to take to get there. Check out the book “Trails of Eastern Idaho” by Margaret Fuller and Jerry Painter and it will tell you of two different routes to the lake. There is a third right in-between them at medicine lodge that we always take. The other two are the Cow Camp and the Fritz creek there are also some other nice little lakes up there. At 44°23'13.76"N Lat. And 112°49'49.21"W Lon. There is a small Cessna Plane crash that happened about 30 years ago. As you hike up the mountain you will see debris from the crash that has been dragged down by the snow over the years. Lots to do and beautiful views but a ? on the fishing.
