When I lived in Kansas my buds and I fished this lake a lot! It's an excellent crappie, bass and catfish lake. It's also one of the best spotted bass lakes in the state. Water clarity is generally good even after heavy rains. The shoreline just north of the access, along the dam and fishing piers are good spots to try your luck for the spotted bass. Topwater, spinner and crank baits will catch them. This lake also holds some nice largemouth which can be caught using buzz baits and plastics. Work the weed beds located on the south side of the lake. Crappie anglers should concentrate on the many brush piles while the cat chasers can fish off any of the piers. Cut bait works good for Mr. whiskers. Once in a while in the fall you can get into some walleyes up along the dam.
