If you are looking for an excellent fishing spot this is the place to be. The lake it self isn't very deep. I think in the deepest spot it's only about 15 to 20 ft in depth. There's lots of under water cover for fish to hide in and at the far corner towards the road I've been told there is a 20 ft deep trench that runs about 50 ft in length. Ideal spot for the channel cats in the lake. I've been fishing Silver Lake for about 2 years now and so far the species that I've pulled out of there have been: Bluegill Rock Bass Spotted Bass Largemouth Bass Redear Sunfish White Crappie Black Crappie Warmouth & Channel Catfish Not to mention there are some humongous snapping turtles in the lake as well. The largest Largemouth Bass that I have caught out of there so far has been 9lbs 5oz. and was 17 inches long. Me and buddies go there all the time and we've been know to catch anywhere from 30 to 65 brim in just one spot. Like I said it's an ideal spot underrated in my opinion. The only downfall to this lake is that it is private so you have to get permission to fish here. Or if you know someone with lake front property like me the sky's the limit...
