what to fish for

I caught my first rainbow trout on March 4th(my 23rd birthday), on march 5th I returned again with ice barley on the lake, I fished 12-3pm and caught 9 raindbow and one brown, the biggest one I caught was 10 inches. I was using powerbaits, rooster tails(caught two that way) lime green, but the majority of them I caught on small assorted marsh mellows. Im not and expert but to be honest the marsh mellows seem to work best and hardly have to worry about getting your hook robbed and I mean heck its a cheap bait you can get anywhere and use a whole bag for a month with a group of friends. SO save your money and fish with marsh mellows with leaders and let the marsh mellows sink up from the bottom of the water. Atleast a couple of inches.

trout are hitting at its peak on bottom on either red worms or orange power bait.

This lake is awsome for trout but bass are super hard to land due to the population of trout this lake is loaded with monster bass just hard to land.

After carving a hole through 4" of ice, I lowered a piece of corn on a small snell hook. Rainbow Trout nibbled several times, but unfortunately, none were landed. Unlike last Saturday when I caught my limit of rainbows in a little less than 2 hours.
