There are many fish in this lake large and small on my trip i caught a max of at least 28 fish most being white perch they mainly bite on cricket some large perch go for night crawlers if you want to try for some bigger fish try the beetle spin jig line small mouth bass like to sometimes take to it mainly on warm to hot days mainly sunny with minimum clouds and sometimes you can get a garfish or two with crickets the larger bass are in the middle of the lake they bite on rattle traps like fire tiger or minnows but if you don't catch something you might just be unlucky or go on the wrong day but you will enjoy yourself either way so enjoy your time at this lake.

My father-in-law & I love Black Lake. We drive over an hour just to fish there when there are other lakes much closer to us. The scenery on Black Lake is beautiful & the lake typically provides really good fishing trips. This is especially true during the spring, fall, & winter. The summer fishing on Black Lake for us has been tough at times because of the heat. I recently caught a 9 lb. 1 oz. largemouth bass here at Black Lake. I would definitely caution anyone that is thinking of fishing here to be very careful when navigating the channel as it is not very easy to follow & really curves & bends a lot. Go slow & be very careful.
