This lake has pretty small bass for this area and a poor boat launch. We fought to get our boat launched in 6" of water on a sandy beach and it was not worth it. The scenery was pretty, but it looks like there is a lot of new development. We fished the smallies right on the nests at peak spawn, but we neither saw nor caught anything bigger than 12 inches (about 10 fish each in three hours). We saw more nests and bigger fish on a nearby pond earlier in the week (hint: which came first, the chicken or the...). We caught a few pickerel that were pretty good. Everyone in the area knows this place as a white perch lake, and we just found that it is listed in "A Fisherman's Guide to Maine" as having mostly small bass. Guess we could have saved some time if we did our research.
