Forget about it. The genious powers that be decided to drain the lake to river flow water levels only, whereby effectively wiping out the awesome fishery that existed. Come back in about 20 years. I'll bet you'll never see the fish kill numbers. And by whose hands will they be? Not the anglers. I guess we know where fishing and anglers rank on the scale. Anyone say bottom. I'm not being fooled anymore by MD DNR and fisheries division protect and conserve blah! blah! blah! What a waste, insult and dissapointment. Let's see them do it to Deep Creek Lake. Yeah, good luck. No more money from me to MD for anything having to do with with their fish and waterway stuff. A big part of my life and reason to live in and be part of Garrett County & MD, gone.

i agree whole heartedly, what a tragic waste, if they really had to do this repair there had to be options that would have saved this beautiful and bountiful fishery,.. i know of no other anywhere with the diversity or species and quality of all. there may be a few records cought below in the potomac if they survive. Maryland cares little about anything but tax revenue or revenue in general. it is sad. I will never be able to take my daughter to my favorite fishing spot, unless just to ride on a dead lake and share stories of what it once was. david smith

This makes me sick, I feel like dying. Probably the nicest tail-water fishery on the east coast, GONE. It will take at least 20 years to get the fish numbers back to what it once was. Horrible tragedy. Where else could you go catch 24 inch stream bred browns in beautiful, buggy water?
