My son and I fished the back of the pond. We reeled in a small perch, large mouth bass several pumpkin seeds and then I caught the biggest large mouth bass of my life. It was 23" long and had to weigh in at 5 lbs. It was an awesome day!

If you like to fish for trout and bass, you'll LOVE this pond. The large public grassy beach area has parking along the cemetery road that runs along the public side of the pond. There is also a deck that is handicap accessible, and it's located right in the middle of some of the prime trout producing areas. Trout that I have caught are healthy stocked rainbows, brookies and browns. While most of the stockies are 12 or 13 inches, it's not unusual to hook into one of the MANY lunkers that are hold-overs from the past fishing derbies held for 12 and under every spring. My wife comes down sometimes with me and reads the newspaper on one of the benches put up by the town. This is also a VERY kid-friendly area. -TROUT: The most popular trout fishing spot is right off Route 141 on the grassy area and fishing deck. -BASS: The coves at the other (south) end produce the best bass action. -CARP: The entire pond is great for carp. Some of my fishin' buddies have caught and released 20 pounders that are good for 20 to 30 minutes of fighting action! So, get yourself and a kid(s) down to Easthampton and fish Nashawanuck Pond! You'll be glad you did, and be back for more!
