Caught two bass, 7 and 9 inches, on my first two casts with a grasshopper crankbait lure. My third cast, I cast into a branch, messed up the jerk, and got it too tangled to salvage, so I cut it loose. Then I realized that I didn't have any more insect lures. I tried a couple of different minnow crankbait lures with motion similar to that of the hopper, but all I got were a few nibbles. Not another bite. I stopped on the way home for two more hoppers.
