Great place to fish, especially for young anglers (or the girlfriend that likes to fish only when catching fish). I've been fishing this pond since May, and I have yet to go to this pond and not catch anything. We have been mostly fishing Rapala floating lures, and Rebel Crawfish in Firetiger and Hot Steel on sunny days, and Rainbow Trout and Perch on overcast days. The smaller sizes work great for everything from the small Panfish and Yellow Perch, to the decent sized largemouth and smallmouth that we've pulled out. The bass we've caught have been in the 1-2.5 lb range. Nothing huge, but on a Light or UltraLight rod with 6 or 8lb test they are alot of fun. Fishing the sunny side of the lake has been most prevalent, but while walking along the higher walkways looking into the shallow, grassy patches, I've seen schools of larger bass feeding on the bottom. An amazing site for anyone that has or has not seen this. Bass feeding in schools like Bonefish. In this case I've had success fishing a red plastic worm on a Texas rig. Love fishing this pond, and would highly recommend it to anyone needing to get in that quick fishing trip in an urban setting. Tight lines all.

Surf casting using artifical lures mostly shallow crank bait, power worms, tubes and livebait depending on dept of water.Afternoon condition you will find several school of sunfish and yellow pearch.Small Batch of largemouth bass can found lurking in the shallows. Largemouth Bass from my experience are not as active. I haven't seeen or catch 16inch bass or seen any yet. But at some point with polarize glasses you find 7-12inch bass. Top water action is rare , haven't seen any Trout or Chain pickeral. Larger Yellow pearch can caught on live worm and surf casting. On the postive note you can walk around the entire pond and fish from the shore and will have no problem casting to the desire point. Med Action Rod & Reel Recommend. Rocky bottom as some part and heavy vegartian at some parts. Target the areas where plant life exist and you will find the Bass. So I give it a fair because I wasn't catching game size Fish and the lack of active Bass. It probably depend on time and condition so overall don't let my experience discourage anyone from fishing here. Parking can be found on Perklin St which can be troublesome at some point so go early Since it pretty popular among residents.
