The lake is also known as Webster Lake. You are better off with a boat since most of the shore line is privately owned. There is a public launch on the souteastern end and a town-owned launc ($20 to non-residents in the summer) at Memorial Beach in the northeast corner. Lake has smallmouth and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, crappie and the usual panfish. Supposedly there are rainbow and lake trout and bullhead but I've not run into them. Best fishing during warmer periods is on the south side of any of the islands, especially in the south pond portion of the lake. Chain pickerel should be fished in 6-8' of water in middle or south ponds. In spring, the waters north of Memorial Beach are accessible by boat and are good bass fishing waters. For trout, you'll need to head for deeper waters spring, summer and fall...try the midpoints of middle or south ponds, 20' or more down. Best all-around spot are the waters west of Colonial Park on south pond (basically, the southwest corner of the lake). In winter, ice fishing is excellent pretty much anywhere on the lake.
