I've lived on the pond for 40 years and have a good perspective of the ponds condition and inhabitants.Newton pond has a healthy fish population including Largemouth bass, chain pickerel, calico bass(crappy),sun fish, bull heads, and the occasional yellow perch. The pond on average runs about 8-10 feet deep with a deep spot of 14 feet. The northern end of the pond has good structure with plenty of lilly-pads and shoreline stumps, while the rest of the pond is weed-beds and drop-offs.The weeds over the past few years have steadily increased. The pond has access off Sewell st,although not a designed boat ramp, and fisherman can also gain access from Mill road in Boylston. Please be responsible and carry out what you carried in!Tight lines!
