I have fished on Lake Stella for nearly 25 years, ever since I was a little kid. A little bit about the lake itself. First, it's pretty shallow. The deepest this lake gets is about 15 ft. There's a really shallow sand bar extending northwest of the "island" on the southern part of the lake. If you're trolling, try to avoid that sand bar unless you want to break your motor. For the best fishing, stick to the shallow areas about 30-50 ft. away from the shoreline. What will you catch? Well, since the DNR no longer stocks this lake, don't expect to catch anything really HUGE. However, you can catch a lot of fish. Mostly, I catch Northern Pike, Crappie, Sunfish, Perch, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, and Pumpkinseed Sunfish. If you put a minnow on your hook and leave your line out overnight, you can catch a Bullhead (catfish). That's about it though. I love Lake Stella!
