Good lake for fishing Large and Smallmouth bass, Northern pike reaching 50 plus inches, perch, sunfish, rock bass, suckers, and formally huge crappie. I have not caught a crappie in a few years but they used to be big. You can not fish this lake without renting a cabin on lakefront, and there are a few. I was fortunate enough to grow up on the lake, and I have fished it thousands of times. Ice fishing is tricky though as the surface area is pretty large and usually covered in about a foot of snow.

I fish this lake every July and usually do well on the smallies. However I've yet to catch a pike or large mouth. But I haven't really fished for pike either. One would think you'd catch one on accident throwing bass baits such as spinners and stick baits. I've also never seen our caught a large mouth on this lake as mentioned in the previous post.
