Much of the perimeter of the lake is private property and fishing near the shore in the public areas is poor due to shallow weedy conditions and overfishing Plan on getting a boat of some kind so you can access more of the lake This is based on 3 years of unsuccessful attempts to fish from the shore but admittedly I'm a lousy fisherman As a side note I see a lot of ice fishing during the winter Not my thing but Reeds Lake draws that crowd as well

as stated by Fred, the launch area is also a park type area with 2 fishing podium-docks. the water is about 18 inches deep as far as you can see, and there are weeds everywhere. its a little deeper by the docks, but the signs say fishing not allowed from the docks. there are only a few parking spots and they are right on the road, not in a designated lot. kinda sucks, i went the other day, with a couple hours to kill, and lasted 20 minutes, i was so pissed off. the water is just too shallow to sustain any fish worth catching from shore at the public area. good luck. ive heard the fishing isnt bad if u have a boat though.

My son and I went fishing there last year on May 15th.We fished off the bank in the public area.We both limited out on crappie in 2 hours using minnows with slip bobbers. We casted no father than 25' from the shore. We stayed longer and helped a couple other young guys fill their limit also. Some old guy walked up and told us the lake was polluted and not to eat the fish.Probably a local landowner who did'nt want people fishing HIS lake.I've been eating crappie from there for years and have'nt croaked yet.May try a boat this year, but parking space is very limited on the street for truck & boat trailer,a person may be disappointed to get there and find no place to park.

When the public access site was redesigned the launch was made a bit narrower than before and harder to use. Also most of the curbs are now painted yellow, restricting the parking so that there's only room for about 3 rigs. Just a coincidence? NOT! Some of the clowns that live on this lake get up at the crack of dawn to waterski all around the anchored fishing boats. I don't plan on returning anytime soon. High society people just bore me anyway.
