The dogfish is more correctly known as the Bowfin. Also called the Grinnel as well as Dogfish. It has been around for 100,000,000 years. They are very tough fish and can take a long time to land. The Bowfin has incorrectly been catagorized as a rough fish and been abused because of this. They are awesome to catch and fight harder than any other fish I know of! They can have truly beautiful markings as well.

there are tons of carp, bullhead, catfish and such but i fish for bass a lot and caught some nice ones... 5.5 lbs and over

A lot of Bullhead Catfish, good fishing for Carp, and at times you'll catch what we call a dogfish. I've been trying to find the correct name, but haven't one to confirm it.
