Lake Nokomis Fishing in Hennepin County, Minnesota

I have fished Lake Nokomis for many years,(1979-Present). Like all fishing, there have been good days and bad days. I do know that there are several varieties of gamefish in the lake, and have caught most of them. I fish from shore, just 100 yards from my car, usually, and have caught bluegill, perch, bullhead, bass, bowfin, northern pike, and many, many crappies over the years. I have had my best luck on the east side of the lake, and, though I seldom catch anything really large, its a great hoot to catch fish while all the joggers, bicyclists, and kids hanging around all say "theres no fish in this lake!" Its a relaxing, low physical labor day of fishing, and I recommend it to all.

i fished here alot from the shore,but i was in the boat and caught an 11 pound bass just to the east of the bigger beach.I put him back in the water.it was sunny maybe 2 o clock and calm.there are big fish in here,alot of really old fish.
