The fish didnt seem to be biting when we visited the lake in mid-July. We tried various placed on different spots of the lake in search of bass and panfish. The most common catch were small perch and sunnies, with a few small bass here and there. Frustrated by the lack of pannies, we focused more on the bigger species. Northern Pike were the common fish, and only one walleye. The lake has a very sandy bottom, with steep dropoffs that make spot fishing hard to do. Without a trolling motor, you better be prepared for a long day on the lake. Minnows worked good for the smaller stuff, and chubs and leaches worked great for Northern Pike.
