I am considering purchaing a lot on this lake and would like to know more. the realtor said it was DNR stocked, but I have found that not to be true after looking a the DNR website. How unhappy are the locals about this development? I would rather not be in the middel of that

No public access, only property owners have access to lake. Lake is stocked and under a fish management program via a lake association that property owners take part in. Stocked fish are Walleye, BlueGill, Sunnies and other, plus native species. According to the DNR the lake has had an occasional partial freeze but none on record for over 10 years. Who ever posted the other comments have no idea of what they are talking about and even state "I have heard" in their statement, obviously no first hand knowledge of the lake. It looks like the same person posted the negative statements over and over again, I'm sure just a local that's pissed off about the development started along the lake trying to keep people out of the area and off the lake.

I happen to know who posted those comments, NOT CREDIBLE! I know someone who catches northerns there. It is also good to hear the lake owners improving the lake with their stocking effort.

The comments regarding the freeze out situation is not credible at all. There has not been one in 10 years there and that was a partial freeze at most. This lake a well kept secret and allows recreation of all types. The fishing situation will be great for those that own property on the lake due to the stocking program going into effect the spring of 2008. Boating and skiing on this lake are great as it is not heavily populated. Access has to be gained by private entry due to know public access which keeps it private. Regarding the postings with the freeze...they have "heard" is all the info they provide. No knowledge of it personally is likely the case.

I personally have been on the lake with a vexlar in the winter time, the lake has good depth we usually catch crappie and northerns in the 8 to 15 foot transitions. I have also been on the lake in the summer with a boat, the lake is super nice and clean too. Big enough to ski or tube I'm sure. No public access but if you get to know someone with a level parcel they will likely let you launch a boat. Sounds like some of the locals are trying to upset the development on the lake. That is quite unfortunate due to the fact that they have put a lake improvement (fish management program)in place, as well as preventative measures from any further freeze out. It is good to hear about people doing their part on improving on what is an already good thing. Looks like the same unnamed person left the negative comments :(

A ranking of 3 isn't quite fair as I haven't spent a whole lot of time on the water. But here's what I know for a fact as I bought a parcel on this lake. Over the winter, I popped a hole in the ice, got a depth of around 12 ft. Also used the underwater camera and did see fish, though it was kind of hard to tell what kind(s). Caught nothing over winter and not quite sure about what I'll get this summer. So far, bullheads and a med size perch (CPR). Graphed a fair portion of the lake and were seeing a max depth of 10'. Note to Mr. John Hull or other friendly soul (where 'bouts on the lake did you find the 15' depth?) I'd be much obliged if you'd educate me. Don't know about winter kills yet, just have to see. Their is a stocking effort in place by a private biologist (the permit has already been issued by the DNR) and they'll be doing that soon. It is a clean lake, hard bottom, rocks with sand, overall, quite nice. I don't know if their are plans to add an aerator, but with stocking, I think it would be a wise chioce. Thanks much.
