Went back again this fall! What a great lake and no one else fishing bass or northern! A few trying for crappie and walleye but not much luck. I did GREAT! Found a few spots that were loaded with BIG bass. They were up and really smacked a red rattling rapala lipless crank. Only problem all day was loosing over twenty bucks worth of baits to BIG northerns. The bass were around the cabbage flats and the northern on the steep sand drops. Biggest bass 5 pounds plus, northern over ten.

Decided to stop here after fishing Little Birch this A.M. Glad I did! The bass and northern were up on the coon tail flats and hitting with abandon. I was throwing a big old spinner bug along the five to seven foot mark just south of the cut into the upper lake. This seems to be a good spot at this time of year. Caught a lot of bass in the two to three pound range and many northern up to ten pounds. Those rascals like to eat your baits though. Lots of other anglers fishing walleye along the break but I didn't see many caught. If you happen to see a old guy in a little tin Bass Tracker stop over and say hello. I'm on the water just about every day from June on. Good luck and keep that line wet.

I have a cabin on this lake and it is has fairly decent fishing. We have had weed issues in the past, but are getting better quickly do to DNR intervention. Typically catch good size pike, average panfish, few walleyes, and not much else. Don't make a long trip to visit this lake, but stop by if in the area.

Lots of big fish can be caught at this lake including walleye, northern pike, bass, and crappies. I have fished here both winter and summer and have had mixed results. Hard to find sometimes in the winter, but summer time you are able to find them with ease. Walleyes during the winter seem to like the night bite. Crappies morning and before dark in winter and summer. Northerns all day long, and you might get lucky with a big one. Bass in the summer is also great, with a friend catching a monster last year. Stay on the south side of the lake, unless going for bass or northern, but the south has everything you need. Good luck and go big!
