Yes I've been on this lake! Caught a lot of largemouth of the reed point just east of the access. Loads of fish in the 12-16 inch range. All caught on a Red Spinner bait with gold blades. I also caught a few smallmouth but never ran into any good concentration of fish. I can usually find them but they eluded me on this lake. The largemouth were up on the flats in the old coon tail. They were ganged up on the points and inside turns next to the steeper drops. Definitely in a fall pattern. A fun lake to fish but as I found out it's no secret.

The secret is out! This lake is hot! I can attest to that because this fall the diehards were out late trying to catch the elusive walleye. There are some nice ones and my best this fall was a 7 pound plus beauty caught on an artificial bait. I also put together the puzzle and found out how to catch the smallmouth. Fortunately most other anglers were fishing for largemouth so I had the brown fish all to myself. Just remember this if you decide to try for largemouth and smallmouth, look for any weeds you can find close to deep water. Walleyes? Get out on the tips of the points and fish DEEP! Oh and don't let the rain or snow stop you. I'll see you next fall. Just look for an old guy in a small flat bottom tin boat.
