I fished Lake Tom Bailey several times between March 1988 and October 1991 and caught fish most times. I have caught some small bass up to a pound and a half and a lot of bream and crappie, but I mainly fished for big channel catfish. I averaged 2 to 5 catfish each night with the biggest over 12 pounds. A friend of mine, while fishing a bass tournament in 1990, caught a 38 lbs. channel catfish on a lure he was using. This lake was full of huge channel catfish including the 51 lbs. 12 oz. Mississippi state record caught in 1997.
