THIS IS A PRIVATE RESORT BUILT IN THE 1930'S BECAUSE AFRICAN AMERICANS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO FISH AND PURCHASE PROPERTY AT LAKE OF THE OZARKS UNTIL THE 1950'S. A BLACK PHYICIAN, DR. TURNER PURCHASED THIS LAND AND SOLD LOTS TO BLACK FOLK AROUND THE MIDWEST. TO THIS DAY,ONLY ROWING AND ELECTRIC MOTORS CAN BE USE.IN THE 50'S AND 60'S TROPHY LARGEMOUTH BASS WERE COMMON PLACE. BASS IN THE 7--10 POUND RANGE WAS A NORM.
