First time fishing at clinton road today. Great day all around other than the pouring rain. Pulled 2 small moulth approx. 2.5 to 3 lb. Around 6:30 am to 7:30 am. The drop offs from the shallows are your best bet here. The fishing during the day is very slow honestly, not much shore action. Pulled a perch from a back cove and had HUGE pike snap my line 3 feet from the boat. So heres what i used..... very simple green rubber french fry with exposed dark hook. Nothing else in my or my bass buddys wide aray of baits worked. Heres for the exciting part. I saw my first , in all my years of fishing, schooling bass attack twenty foot from the end of my pole. As fast as it happend, it was gone. We counted about 7 or 8 small moulth large in size smashing countless bait fish. We didnt catch any of them but still very cool to watch. The only part of the lake we didnt hit was over "near" the damn which you arent actually allowed to fish. Last but not least keep in mind this lake is owned and opperated by the newark watershed, you NEED to obtain a fishing license a fishing permit and seperately a boat permit if you intend to use one.
