This lake was part of the North Princeton Development Center (NPDC) state hospital property. It used to be a prime public fishing spot for local anglers and was the best kept secret in the area. The lake used to hold massive carp, largemouth, smallmouth, eels, catfish, sunfish, pickerel and trout. The NPDC was closed and sold to the township of Montgomery. As part of the clean-up of the site, the dam at the end of the lake was torn down and the lake was drained. It is currently (2008-9) being dredged and no public access is allowed. Rumor has it that the property will be turned into a state park. Hopefully, the lake will be restored to pristine condition and the dam will be rebuilt.
