I have been camping here since I was a kid, now taking my kids. This lake has seen better days, not as clean as when I was a kid. mason Lake also has a reputation as a party lake, would explain the mess often left behind. I do my part to clean up and hope others will too. Catch Bass like crazy all 12-14 inches, using minnows or top water lures

This is small lake that offers public fishing and camping, but only around a dozen sites. The fishing is great for young kids because the hits are non-stop. The problem is you won't catch anything more than 6-8 inches long. There are mostly perch and whitefish with an occasional bass in the lake.

I have been fishing Mason Lake for 10 years now. It is a quiet setting there is usually not more than 4 or 5 people fishing the lake at one time. I have caught perch, whitefish, and bass out of the lake. The overall depth of the lake is very shallow at 4'-8' deep with the deepest part at the center at only 18'. Generally cath 10"-14" inch bass out of the lake, in 2007 we pulled a 21" bass out of the center while trolling.

the fishing for bass was excellent. the bass we landed were any were from 12 to 15 inches. there were many smaller fish cauaght. the best way to catch them is from a boat using top water lures. there were some small panfish hitting to but the fishing is non stop from sun up to sun down which can be tiring for some folks but others a great thrill
